The Episcopal Church Council at The University of Chicago is pleased to announce the call and appointment of The Rev. Stacy Alan as Episcopal Chaplain to The University and Director of Brent House, effective January 1, 2005.

Stacy was born in the Midwest and raised on both the East and West Coasts. She attended Seattle University, where she earned Bachelors degrees in Humanities and German, graduating summa cum laude and receiving the Matteo Ricci College service award.

After traveling and studying Spanish in Central America, Stacy attended Union Theological Seminary in New York City, graduating with a Masters of Divinity in 1992. She spent a year of her studies at the Seminario Biblico Latinamericano in San Jose, Costa Rica, working closely with Episcopal and Lutheran missions in that city. After graduating, she worked for five years as the Coordinator of Volunteer Programs at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, the largest private emergency feeding program in New York City. She was ordained to the deaconate and priesthood in the Diocese of New York in 1998.

For the past five years, Stacy has worked as Assistant to the Rector at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she has been in charge of coordinating the youth and pastoral care programs. While in Kalamazoo she has revived a dormant campus ministry at both Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo College and has been involved with the Diocesan Evangelism Committee. She was invited to participate in the strategy group for the Episcopal Church's 20/20 mission initiative and has been active in GTNG (Gathering the NeXt Generation).

Stacy has been married for the past 10 years to Ignacio Salinas with whom she has two children, Ignacio (8) and Cate (3). In her free time, she enjoys being silly with her children, singing sad Irish ballads and Latin American protest songs and dancing to Latin music.
